Steam Engines in the present day shot on Super 8 film! Surley it hasn't been done before. Has it?
This was a fun project I worked on which I simply forgot about. Most of the footage I shot on these reels were of my friends in our final days of uni. But, I snuck in quite a bit of train stuff too. This project isn't purley my creation it was a collaberation but I won't mention the other creators name as I am not sure he wants to be credited. Recreating something similar to 'Railway with a Heart of Gold' was a lot of fun to do and I hope you have enjoyed this too.
The footage for the Talyllyn Railway was shot on the 30th October 2018 by a friend and myself. On a stock standard point and shoot.
The footage from the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway was shot on the 6th June 2021 by myself with audio by my friend. On a Elmo 1012S-XL
For anyone who isn't aware what Super 8 is here is the definition: Super 8 mm film is a motion-picture film format released in 1965 by Eastman Kodak as an improvement over the older "Double" or "Regular" 8 mm home movie format. These days Super 8 film is very expensive to buy and develop but this is one of my favourite things to use and shoot with. Might as well share it with you too! Might do more of these in the future!
