A Critical Dragon | Talking About Genre: Dr. Rodney Fierce Teaches Me About the Genres of Children's and YA Literature @ACriticalDragon | Uploaded February 2022 | Updated October 2024, 5 hours ago.
I had the great pleasure of chatting to my friend, the brilliant Dr. Rodney Fierce, about some of the genre constructions of Children's and YA Literature.

We discuss how we define the genres, different approaches they take. As well as discussions of what the different genres do and how they are distinct from 'adult' literature, as well as some of the similarities.

We discuss Harry Potter, Twilight, Peter Pan, and a host of other texts.
