Faisal Abu-Izzeddin is one of the establishers of the Shouf Biosphere Reserve in Lebanon, and now serves as a senior advisor. He has devoted most of his time establishing protected areas and promoting conservation of biodiversity in the Arab region. He also worked with international organizations such as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), UNESCO, UNDP, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
