OFFICIAL TASK DESCRIPTION:
Take one or more ingame screenshot(s) in double F5 mode of 3 subjects:
- Of yourself wearing a fancy hat (Wearing a helmet with an armor trim or colored leather cap)
- Of yourself, while riding an entity
- Of yourself, being within 4 blocks distance to a hostile enemy. The enemy has to have aggro on you, passive endermen don't count. The entire face of the enemy must be visible in the photo.

COMMENTARY:
Before results came out:
This task seemed to be pretty linear. The only armor trim even remotely close to spawn is in the temple, and there are no convenient caves to spawn endermen for pearls. You also need at least 2 wood to make the smithing table, and the pillager outpost was the closest source. So I was only able to think of this one route. Due to how simple it is, I doubt it'll be close to winning.
My first entry spawned a creeper in the upper part of the temple to clear the blocks, but the task hosts considered this to be an invalid strategy, so I had to update it in the least effort way possible (and probably still the fastest).
The least optimal parts of this are the camel mounting (its AI was very stubborn so I settled for it not walking towards me) and probably the general movement across the terrain.
After results came out:
I managed to place a lot higher than I predicted. The route was pretty good, but there was a lot more variety than I expected. Some of the submissions are things I wouldn't have ever thought of. Go check out the results video and see for yourself.

Explanation of the glitches used in the run:
S+Q Upwarp has been around for a couple of years now. In 1.4.2, by getting stuck inside a block and reloading the world, the game will increase your vertical position until you are no longer inside a block. This glitch only works in spawn chunks, but those chunks can be extended by placing a chest at the chunk boundary, which I do twice.
Getting stuck inside of a block has mostly been done using trapdoors or gravity blocks like sand. But recently, Crafterdark and 0x26e popularized a version of this trick that doesnt use any items. You need to reload the world once to clip into the block, and then again to upwarp. This trick is called Sandless Upwarp, and for some reason, its consistency changes depending on what map youre on, where you are in the map, and even things like how well the map converted between versions.
The upwarp to the first woolbox happens to be very consistent in this map, but the upwarp back to the monument is not quite as consistent, so I use sand instead.
