This next video in the series explores the slightly more advanced concepts when taking database backup. The traditional role of backups is to bring the database back online with as little data loss as possible and this video shows how to achieve this goal. The video explore the different types of backups that are available in addition to the Full database backup that was explored in the previous video. It explores the differential and transaction log backups as well as the role the role they play in a conventional backup and restore strategy. The video then moves on to show how to take the differential and transaction log back up using the GUI and a few considerations that need to be kept in mind when performing these operations.
While we are showing how to take these backups manually in this video, we have already covered maintenance plans and how to automate the process of taking backups in another video on this site already. In order to keep the video under 10 min the operations are split across this vide and the next part of the series called "Part 4:- Restoring database backups Differential and Transaction Log Backups"
