What does it mean to be a gatherer instead of a scatterer? In this powerful teaching, Pastor Paula White-Cain explains the spiritual significance of Jesus’ words in Matthew 12:22–37: “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.”
Jesus came not only to redeem mankind but to bring the Kingdom of God, and He has called His people to walk in freedom, purpose, authority, and spiritual boldness. Pastor Paula teaches that the enemy seeks to bind, divide, discourage, and scatter—but God is raising up sons and daughters who will stand together, build, worship, and advance His Kingdom.
Drawing from Matthew 12 and Zechariah 1:18–21, this message explores the difference between a spirit of gathering and a spirit of scattering. Rejection, offense, division, gossip, strife, hurt, fear, and unforgiveness can cause people to withdraw from one another, but God calls His people to become gatherers—to bring people together, extend hospitality, build community, and strengthen the Church.
Pastor Paula also teaches about the “strong man,” the authority believers have through Jesus Christ, and the call to stand firm in spiritual warfare. The Church is not called to hide in fear. It is called to arise, walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, proclaim the Gospel, pursue God's purpose, and stand boldly in faith.
This is a call for the sons and daughters of God to arise, overcome intimidation, reject the spirit of scattering, and become builders of the Kingdom. Whatever is trying to steal your peace, joy, freedom, purpose, or destiny does not have the final word. Through Christ, we have been given freedom, authority, and abundant life.
You are either gathering or scattering. Choose to gather. Choose unity. Choose faith. Choose to stand.
