So much pressure has been placed on pastors to be everything for their congregations—to teach like the best teachers, lead like the strongest leaders, sing like the most gifted worshippers. But that was never God’s design. The church was never meant to revolve around one person carrying the weight of everyone’s spiritual life. Each believer is called to pursue Christ personally, to take ownership of their walk with Him, and to build up the body together. Pastors are not Moses, standing between God and His people; Christ Himself tore the veil so every believer could draw near to God directly.
