Take Me Out is really difficult to sing without octave shifting or using falsetto. It spans 2 and a half octaves, which most people simply do not have access to when singing - I can span the entire song if I jump into falsetto on the verses, but to save your ears I've octave shifted the higher parts down.
It's unusual to have a song where the toughest phrases land on pitchslides, but that's exactly what happens in Take Me Out. Watch out for the "I know I won't be leaving here... with you" phrases, they're trickier to score than you might think.

Im not sure why this song is rated in tier 6 (5 dot difficulty). Its honestly not difficult in any way whatsoever. The lyrics are a bit compressed in a few places, but everythings on key, theres not much vocal range required and the short word lines means you have tons of forgiveness in the scoring. Id have pegged this song at 1 dots, maybe 2 dots at most.")

This wasnt actually the video I was going to do for my first Rock Band 3 video. I was originally going to do Plush by Stone Temple Pilots first, but this song came up in a random setlist and the rapid-fire lyrics caught my interest.
From a technical viewpoint, Me Enamora isnt terribly tricky, but unless you speak fairly fluent Spanish, the lyrics are just too fast to read.
Personally, I dont speak any Spanish at all, so I had to learn the song one word at a time over the course of about three days. Im very sorry if Ive made some pronunciation mistakes; I tried hard to make sure I got as much of the lyrics right as possible, but with lyrics this fast, its really hard, especially with a completely foreign language.

As per the rules of the challenge, the original vocals by Gwen Stefani are muted, and my microphone is turned up so the only vocals you hear are my own.
Im not really sure how hard this song is for the average person - it didnt seem that difficult to me, but Ive heard it a number of times on the radio before playing it in Rock Band 2. Theres a lot of scoring forgiveness on this song on the short words, so I was able to do all kinds of crazy things with my voice on this video. Extreme vibrato, fadeouts, hooks, the works.

This is a test video to see how well my new camera functions as a capture device. The good news is that its an excellent capture device - as youll see, the video quality is pretty good, and the audio is very crisp.
Is the direct capture video at 480i better quality than my 720 camera-to-screen? I think the 720p is obviously crisper, but its a nightmare to frame the shot and get it aligned properly. Let me know in the comments!
As for the audio, I had some trouble trying to get my voice to come through clearly, though, so I did a simultaneous record on my other camera and mixed both audio tracks together. Im still not terribly happy with the result, but itll do for now until I can figure out how set up my Samsom mic from my PC as external audio.

Unlike my usual videos, I was unable to minimize Alanis original vocals - I think the vocals are doubled up and the backing track always plays.
Ironic is harder than it seems. Theres a lot of talkies, but there are also some really odd choices of pitched phrases that might have been talkies that are a bit hard to puzzle out.
P.S. See my annotation about how awkward it is to sing about meeting the man of my dreams as a guy. Fortunately Im secure enough to not worry about it, but still... Ironic indeed! :)")

Juke Joint Jezebel is a really cool song with a really strange vocal track. Once you know what youre supposed to be singing to satisfy the game, its really not difficult at all, but trying to pick out what the game is looking for by ear is pretty tough because theres a really strong harmony track that doesnt bear a whole lot of resemblance to the charted vocals.
As with other songs with strong harmonies, Ive pushed the original instrumental track into the left side audio, and my own vocal track onto the right side audio so its a little more distinct. As youll see, the song is quite simple once you get a handle on what youre supposed to be singing, rather than what youre hearing.
As for the talky verses in this song, Im still not quite sure exactly what all those sing-song growls and chants are supposed to sound like. I took my best guess at them, but Im sure Ive made a few mistakes here and there.")

This is a surprisingly difficult song to perform. The pitch drop on the choruses is very tricky unless youve got excellent pitch control. You can octave shift the drops up to make them easier, though itll sound rather strange if you do.")

Nine in the Afternoon isnt really a difficult song to score 100% on, but the pitch changes are really fast and its hard to get them all right unless youre very familiar with the song. Everything is on key, and the relatively short pitch lines means theres a fair amount of forgiveness if youre off by a bit. I hardly ever play this song unless it comes up in a random setlist though, so I apologize for a few spots where Im not holding exactly the right note.
The overdrive path is also fairly easy on this song, nothing terribly difficult to hit, no broken overdrive windows, or anything else of that nature.
Overall, one of the easier songs on the Rock Band 2 disc once you get used to the speed of the lyrics.")

This is actually a pretty easy song all around as long as you have enough vocal range to span all the pitches. The lower parts can be a bit hard to hear since Coulton sings them rather quietly and the instrumentation drowns him out a little in the mix. Otherwise its pretty straightforward, everythings on key, though theres some really unusual lyric cadences.
To have a bit more fun on this track, I shifted all the zombie chorus down an octave (pro-tip: dont try this at home unless youre a bass singer like me, its much harder than it looks).")

This isnt really a terribly difficult song, but theres some major stylistic differences between this cover version and the original song. Not that the cover in Rock Band 1 & 2 is bad - its actually quite good - its just missing some of the spirit of the original. I tried to bring as much of the original vocal style in as I dared - the original performance has a lot more bent notes and pitches, so youll see and hear me actually pitchsliding up and down some of the horizontal pitchline phrases like gonna use my arms, gonna use my legs.")

Hammerhead is a fairly easy song to sing; most people shouldnt have any problems with the intro, or the outtro. If you play on Expert, however, the first bang bang it hammers in my head has a sour note, and the Biblical reference (yea though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death / I fear no evil for thou art with me) can be problematic.")
