Phillip Island is home to one of the world's largest Little Penguin colonies.
The region is well known for their nightly Penguin Parades with thousands of little penguins returning to shore after a day's fishing to find shelter for the night. It's quite an unbelievable sight to see and an experience unique to Phillip Island Nature Parks.
Beyond penguins, the island is home to more than 35,000 seals and is a prime location for spotting our favourite tree-dwelling marsupial, koalas.
The rugged coastline makes for excellent hiking with Instagram-worthy ocean views and offshore waves will suit more adventurous visitors with Phillip Island recognised as a National Surfing Reserve.
For rev-heads and two-wheel aficionados, the Phillip Island plays host to multiple international Grand Prix's each year, generally in February and October.
When it's time to re-fuel and find something to eat, as you'd expect, the seafood comes fresh and is among the best in the state, best served with ocean views and a glass of locally produced white wine.
