Dร jiฤ hวo everybody, welcome back! Today I'm leaving the apartment and catching the Red Line MRT from Dongmen straight to Yuanshan station for the 2026 Taipei Traditional Market Festival. This is an annual event where the very best food stalls in the city battle it out to see who reigns supreme.
Under the hot Taipei sun, we're navigating the heavy crowds to track down the absolute best local flavors. From traditional mountain pig sausage on a stick to a mysterious fried minced pork ball, we are trying it all. But the real highlight was a plate of crispy Yilan onion cakes that turned out to be so full of boiling, savory juice that one literally exploded right onto me and the camera lens!
Along the way, we also take a deep dive through the massive weekly farmers market and even stumble directly into a huge surprise anime cosplay gathering happening right in the middle of Maji Square. Come wander with me for a wild, delicious, and unexpectedly messy day out in Taipei!
