With the main bulk of the United States 8th Army having already successfully landed on the beaches of Nasugbu on 31 January 1945, the 511th Paratroop Regiment was called in to link up with the rest of the 11th Airborne Division via an airdrop over Tagaytay Ridge. There were three drops in all from 3-4 February, 1945. Particularly in the earlier part of the video, Taal Lake and Taal Volcano are clearly visible. The 511th would initially be required north to support US Army troops in Manila but would also be active when the liberation of Batangas from Japanese occupation began in earnest in March 1945.
