In this video we look at replacing the battery in the key fob of a 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma. We also look at what happens when the Fob battery completely dies and you have to start the truck with no spare battery. I had always planned to do this video whenever it truly needed replacing in real life to serve as a life expectancy test also. Amazing to me that I am just now having to replace this battery and I have used this same exact key fob for 4 1/2 years and driven over 51,000 Miles. I really thought these would need replacing every 6 months to a year being used with the proximity sensing etc. on top of the radio remote features. I am truly impressed. I feel much better about the push button start than I did when I first purchased it. I have actually already replaced the main vehicle 12V battery, but not the first Fob battery yet.
