The Table Mountain "tablecloth" is a famous orographic cloud formation, often described as a blanket of cloud, that covers the flat top of the mountain. It is caused by the southeasterly wind (the "Cape Doctor") lifting moist air, which condenses into a, thick cloud over the summit, often cascading down the front face.
