On February 27, 2024, German hi-fi giant T+A released the Criterion S 230 loudspeaker, a three-way design with two woofers, two midranges, and one tweeter. T+A Criterion speakers date back over 40 years. One of the hallmarks of this and previous Criterion speakers is transmission-line loading for the bass. In this video, company founder Siegfried "Siggi" Amft explains the transmission-line concept, as well as many other new S 230 features, including a magnesium-dome tweeter that extends the high frequencies to 50kHz and the dual midrange drivers used to control directivity.
