Once you've threaded the tip guard on and tightened it as much as possible by hand, you're ready to start spraying. We recommend practicing with water before starting your project. If you notice leaking while practicing, the tip guard has not been fully tightened. You'll need a wrench to tighten it further. Make sure the unit is off and turn the knob to the 'prime' setting. Rotate your tip so you have access to the connecting nut. Then, take a crescent wrench to get an additional quarter turn rotation of the nut. Practice spraying again. If water still leaks when you spray, follow the same procedure again, but do not overtighten. Practice spraying again to ensure there are no leaks at the connections.
