Here you can see a smushed camshaft sensor wire on a 2004 to 2006 Sprinter. This is one of the most important sensors on the van - you may not be able to start with these wires shorting out.

Mercedes left us a tiny little channel for the wire to slip into, and if it's not in that spot, it will get squished by the plastic engine cover when you tighten it down.

Keep your eye on this. Recommend an adhesive to use in the comments section please - a dab of RTV? Loctite 5020?
