The Annual GMV Awards of 2017 has come to an end.
Congratulations contestants for your honored and valued edits, you all deserved them!
We sincerely hope you all had a great time editing and developing for the future of GMV editing.
As the host, I appreciate everyone coming forward with their opinions on how they feel in response to the awards and I wish to make a small note here, while we congratulate the winners in the categories, the staff of the awards do notice the others. Each one of the contestants videos were watched and was taken into full consideration when judging in these awards.
We can not award everyone for their participation albeit we wish we could. In turn, I would encourage the head judges to message their category contestants and offer the feedback to them, as it appears that often contestants dont realize they can ask for feedback or feel anxious to ask, so if we politely offer we can give the contestants their feedback of which they deserve to see.
This is my special thank you to all those editors who took their time, their patience, their hard work and their efforts to help be apart of this community and this special annual event.

This is the final round - this is where you win or lose. Really prove yourself this round. You have 20 days to make a story based GMV using any song, any game footage and ANY story you like. You could use poetry based stories, interpretive, fanfiction, whatever you like.

DEADLINE NOW SEPTEMBER 25TH!
Can you believe that it has been 5 years since the GMV Awards were first created? We cant - 5 years is a pretty long time in internet years. To celebrate, were holding a pre-awards contest that will celebrate how far we have come in the last few years, individually and as a community.
That is why we are challenging you to remake one of your old gmvs and show us how much you have improved. Submit your old video below in the comments to enter, and then submit your remake when it is done - no later than 9th Sepetember 2014.
Criteria -
The original video must either be:
⋅ Older than 3 years.
⋅ One of your first 10 videos.
Rules -
⋅ Must use video game cutscenes; no live action or animation.
⋅ Your remake must be consistent with the original video; we are marking your improvement in editing, therefore we must be able to compare easily. You will lose points if the content, theme or general composition of your remake strays too far from the original. Stick to the same footage and general clip choices.
⋅ You must use the exact same song, not any remixes or shortened versions. It must be the same length.
Things that can be changed/improved -
⋅ Effects/Masks
⋅ Colourings
⋅ Typography
⋅ Other media such as overlays
⋅ Flow and transitions
⋅ Storyline can but adjusted mildly (where applicable)
⋅ Voice Overs
⋅ Clip quality and aspect ratio.
⋅ Upgrading from a basic program

• All entries must be in by 23:59 31st December 2015.
• Editors may enter more then one category.
• Editors may enter the same video to more then one category.
• Editors must have edited in 2015.
• Must be your own work
• Editors may NOT enter more then one video per category.
• The Editor and Studio Of The Year Awards are done via a nomination process. See the individual videos for more information.
• Only gaming footage allowed. No entries containing any other footage allowed.
• Judges may enter and be nominated for awards. But they will not be able to judge their own entries.
• Head Judges and Co Head Judges cannot enter their own categories
• Contestants may create new GMVs if they wish, but are reminded that entries must have been created in 2013 and posted by the deadline.
• No verbal abuse, etc. to any other entry or judge will be permitted. Any such acts will lead to disqualification.
• Please report any abuse to a Head Judge who can deal with this appropriately.
