What are Node Wars?
Most regions of the Black Desert world are divided into Nodes. Node Wars are battles between Guilds fighting over the possession of these Nodes. Node Wars take place daily at 18:00 UTC - 20:00 UTC for EU and 01:00 - 03:00 UTC for NA. Win a Node War, and not only will your Guild possess the Node for a week, but your Guild will also be able to accumulate Guild funds through tax shares from the Node. These funds can be used as a foundation for your Guild’s growth. ※ The taxes accumulated at the Nodes and Territories are from the fees collected through the transactions made by Adventurers at the Shop and Marketplace. 40% of the taxes accumulated for 1 week from all servers in the Black Desert world are allotted as Territory taxes, and the remaining 60% are allotted as Node taxes. Then, the allotted taxes are divided according to the set ratio for each Territory and Node. That is, the more transactions are made at the Shop and Marketplace by the Adventurers, the more obtainable tax shares there will be for possessing Territories and Nodes. However, there is no need to be intimidated by such a large-scale PvP battle. Anyone can easily join and enjoy Node Wars and Conquest Wars. All you need is cooperation between your Guild members, and your courage.

Players will enjoy jaw-dropping graphics, intuitive skill-based combat, and an immersive story encased in our expansive world that’s just waiting to be explored. Accompanied by a Black Spirit, a companion whose destiny is intertwined with their own, players will discover the secret of the Black Stones and the history of their corrupting effects.

Class Overview:
The ebb and flow of darkness can be intimidating, and often, overwhelming, however, the Sorceress has overcome these fears in order to harness its power for her own ends. She unleashes her power in melee and mid ranged combat, all the while coalescing her power into fragments that can be absorbed to further augment her abilities.
Sorceresses are well served by agility, darting across battlefields like an avenging shadow, leaving nothing but havoc in her wake. Her limited defensive capability is offset by the small amounts of HP she can steal from her foes. The biggest challenge a Sorceress will face is staying two steps ahead of her foes, striking when they least expect it.
After her Awakening, the Sorceress cleaves through the battlefield with the use of her Scythe. Her range continues to be melee to mid range, though she is granted larger AoE’s with the use of the scythe.

What are Node Wars?

Combat in Black Desert utilizes every button on your controller. To enter combat, you will first need to draw your weapon pressing the Right Stick down. Once your weapon is drawn, you can use combinations of the triggers, bumpers, X, B and A in order to perform skills. You can also add skills to your ring menu which will allow them to be triggered by pressing the D-Pad.

You can check the combination for skills in the skills menu. From there, you can upgrade your skills (costs energy when not talking to a trainer), lock your skills (meaning they will not be performed) or just find out the effects of the skills.

The Warrior class was one of the ‘original’ 4 classes in Black Desert. They use a long sword as their primary weapon and a shield as their secondary weapon. The Valkyrie class is the female counter class to the Warrior but Valkyre has more of a supportive skill set, while Warriors are are closer to a knight. The Warrior class has some blocks and taunts, but the vast majority of their skill set is offensive attacks. At level 56, Warrior unlocks their awakening weapon which is a two-handed Great Sword.
Awakened Warrior is average in low end grinding spots and can be one of the slower and more clunky leveling classes. Warrior does becomes stronger in end game spots though. They are very strong and one of the top tier classes for 1v1 PVP because of their strong 360 degree block and also a grab skill. For the exact same reasons they are also quite strong in node wars, using their block to soak damage, get into a backline and grab and destroy high value targets

Valkyrie wields the one-handed Longsword and shield
and excels at both offense and defense. She is less mobile than
the other classes, but can deal an incredible burst of damage
to anything that comes within her range. She is also great at healing
or protecting her allies. Valkyrie is great in the frontlines,
but her true strength really shines in the midst of allies.
Her skills aid her allies in finishing enemies in a flash.
It allows her to keep enemies in check by raining down magic without ceasing
and evade skillfully to avoid anyone that attempts to approach her.
She reclaims her true self with concise magic maneuvers
and continuous combos at the center of the battlefield.
The awakened Valkyrie holds a shield and the sacred, enormous Lancia.
Her seemingly inhuman defensive capabilities allow her to maintain a defensive stance
in the toughest of situations. Additionally, her thrusting skills with her Lancia are so powerful
they can pierce through every enemy in front of her,
though this does make her less effective against groups that are more spread out.
Valkyrie can also seemingly ascend to the heavens then crash down to deal damage,
as if she truly is a knight of god.
Upon Succession, Valkyrie heads to the frontline with a Longsword and Shield.
She is able to perform brilliant skills with her spiritual powers as she wields
the Longsword instilled with Enslar’s resolve.
Watch as she cuts down enemies in a wide area with holy strength,
or slam down divine energy into the ground to slay her foes.
Her ability to dive into battle and break their ranks increases with
her Longsword and Shield.
Wizard crushes his foes by using the power of the natural elements, which he gathers with his staff.
He is a true master who can harness the power of gigantic fireballs, lighting strikes, and howling blizzards with ease.
He is a walking powerhouse, and is even able to use this magic to cover his weaknesses in close quarters combat.
He can also protect himself or allies within an area.
He may be slow on his feet, but his magic even makes it possible to leap through space

to focus his magical powers to a whole new level.
They help bring forth Marg, the guardian of Fire, and Arne, the guardian of Water.

Node War Revamp
The Node War system has been changed. A big update was released on Global Lab Servers on November 20, 2020, but there are more changes, so we will once again guide you through the new revamp of Node Wars.
The node war system was created centering on a specific node selected for each day of the week. This will now change into Territory Units. For example, on Mondays, all nodes in Balenos will be held, and on Tuesdays, all nodes in Serendia are held.
A Start node is set in each territory. If you participate in an initial War, you must participate at the starting node War. After successful occupation of a start node, you can gradually expand your power to other nodes connected to the occupied area. For example, if Guild A occupies the starting point Balenos Forest, in the next node War, it is a kind of ‘Eating Ground’ that allows you to challenge the War for the connected Bartalli Farm node.
The entire territory of the server where the node War is in progress is changed to a PvP area. (However, safe areas are still excluded from this rule, and in the case of fortresses and attached buildings, it is possible to strike between guilds participating in the node.)
※ For example, if the Guild A that occupied the northern plains of Serendia and the Guild B that occupied Alejandro Farm built a fortress in the Costa Farm node and attacked it, the C Guild that occupied the Costa Farm node and the Northern Plains of Serendia A Guild, Alejandro Farm B Guild can hit fortresses and attached buildings built in Costa Farm node.
The maximum number of nodes that a guild can occupy in a territory is 10.
As before, you can participate in a Siege war when you occupy one node in Tier 2-4.
If you occupy the node of one territory including the starting point, you cannot participate in a War of a different territory.
Information on the starting node of each territory can be found by clicking the node War information on the world map (M).
▲ Guilds that have occupied the starting point can advance to the node connected to the node.

You can check the connection information of each node by clicking the node on the world map.

The ability to designate the ‘center node (main node)’ of the occupied node has been added.
When you have two or more nodes, you can designate one of them as the center node.
When two or more nodes are captured without a center node, the most recently occupied node is automatically designated as the center node.
The center node can be freely designated when the node War is not in progress, and cannot be changed during the node War.
When using the ‘Gather Up’ skill while occupying multiple nodes, it will move you to the center node. (If you own a node is less than 2 Using the “Gather Up” will be taken to the fort or building forts of owned node in the same way as before.)
When the center node is destroyed, all occupied strongholds are destroyed and all occupied nodes are liberated.
※ Guilds that are occupying more than two node must take this into account when setting up their center node.

The ebb and flow of darkness can be intimidating, and often, overwhelming, however, the Sorceress has overcome these fears in order to harness its power for her own ends. She unleashes her power in melee and mid ranged combat, all the while coalescing her power into fragments that can be absorbed to further augment her abilities.
Sorceresses are well served by agility, darting across battlefields like an avenging shadow, leaving nothing but havoc in her wake. Her limited defensive capability is offset by the small amounts of HP she can steal from her foes. The biggest challenge a Sorceress will face is staying two steps ahead of her foes, striking when they least expect it.
Lore:
The lineage of Black Magic, as recorded in the Book of Ancients, dates far back in time.
The first Sorceress, the one who started it all, was Cartian. All present-day Sorceresses are considered her descendants, and the little town of Tarif holds evidence for such a claim. Tarif was founded around three hundred years ago by Cartian and Allan Serbin.
The Book of Cartian, only found and circulated within Tarif, has always been considered the Holy Scripture for Sorceresses. Not everything was mentioned or explained in the Book of Cartian, however, not even the Reaper’s Scythe, the weapon solely used by the Great Sorceress herself.
During Cartian’s time, there was a great territorial war between the Humans and the Cyclopians. The Cyclops were about to completely consume the outnumbered and physically weaker humans, until Cartian appeared and vanquished them with the Scythe.
After Cartian’s victory, the Sorceresses divided into several smaller clans, and began to spread out across the world beyond Tarif. Though she had lived their for an outstandingly long span of time, much longer than that of an average human, Cartian is believed to have settled near Hexe Sanctuary, with one of the smaller clans.
Just before the almost immortal Sorceress disappeared, she injected every ounce of her destructive power into her Scythe, and sealed it away.
It did not take long before the Scythe was found by other Sorceresses who could not control its power, so Allan Serbin, a long-time friend of Cartian and the chief of Tarif, had to seal the Scythe again under the sacred tree of Scuffling Letusa.
As a result, Allan Serbin lost his body, trapping his spirit in a picture frame, where he watches over Tarif to this very day.

O’Dyllita is a new zone expansion which is coming to the game in late 2020 (for PC users EU/NA). O’Dyllita is a located south of Dreighan and east of Kamasylvia. This is the zone that the Dark Elves come from (Dark Knights) and they have a rivalry with the elves from Kamaslyvia. The capital is called O’draxxia and is a fortress located south east of the zone. It is very similar to Grana but has more of a dark and sinister vibe.
The PC version of Black Desert Online is soon going to get another expansive version to explore, named O’dyllita.

The new region was announced all the way back in March and it’s finally making its way to the live servers next month, on October 7.

As usual, the update will be free for all players. Here’s how the developer describes the new region and the challenges it brings.
“As appropriate for its dark reputation, O’dyllita has some of the most difficult areas currently in the game and will mark a true challenge for any adventurers that journey there. In many ways, O’dyllita is the dark mirror of the earlier released Kamasylvia region. Instead of the noble elves of that region, O’dyllita is mostly inhabited by the Ahib, who were exiled by their brethren ages ago.

When the Ahib first arrived in the region, they found the ruins of an ancient kingdom named Orzeca and using a branch they brought from the sacred Kamasylvian tree, they grew their own Thornwood Tree named Turasil. Players that play through the O’dyllita content will be introduced to this story and more while uncovering the secrets of this mysterious land.

Ambitious players will be rewarded with Blackstar Armor for braving the dangers of O’dyllita, a powerful new suit of armor. By collecting materials in the various areas of O’dyllita players can start working on the long but rewarding journey towards completing and improving this new armor set that will surely make them the envy of their fellow adventurers. “

First thing's first - it doesn't matter if you think red battlefield is relevant or irrelevant so attacking me because of it is completely pointless.

Red battlefield is very relevant as spending a lot of time in there means you'll encounter all kinds of situations and sure it's mostly a huge zerg-fest where skill often doesn't matter but there are many moments where you'll find yourself on the side with cooldowns (or without) and you'll end up fighting someone. Or you'll win a 1v5 and so on and so forth and that's why huge pvp experience shouldn't be easily dismissed.
I personally don't do duels on my server because it feels awkward and because i don't really find joy in them and because many other reasons and i mostly don't want to be hassled but i can beat even duel-dedicated players that never do rbf and only do duels despite me never doing them simply because i have way more useful experience in rbf
(and because im much cuter obviously).

so if you think rbf is pointless or whatever - you're free to think whatever you want !

(If you don't want to get triggered or something just skip to point #6 which is the most important part of this)

1*~ What do i think about bdo's pvp?
I think bdo's pvp has the potential to be incredibly good but it has too many toxic mechanics that are not fun to deal with for both the attacker and the defender and they could easily be dealt with if only pearl abyss would listen and if only they would reason.

As it currently stands the pvp is often way too frustrating for everyone and ofcourse there are all the issues with the game engine and desync and the servers.... anyhow those are sort of "beyond our control". We can't simply make europe/NA smaller but what we can do is suggest mechanics that are less affected by issues like desync and mechanics that feel more fair to play against.

2*~ What do i think about bdo's forum?

I think the forum is absolutely full of people that barely play the game that spam way too much lies and propaganda and misinformation and that bothers me so much. I don't want to waste my time to post here but i'm sort of afraid that if i just leave it people will post too much untruthful stuff and the game will get even more imbalanced and spiral out of control (sort of what happened to rangers , but i'll talk more about that below). Most of the active pvpers in game know each other and the tone of discussion in game is way different than it is in the forum but some people have issues with being fair and objective and have horrible ways of judging things so their opinion ends up being skewered and bad.

I don't think people should talk about pvp without at least softcap gear and also experience (a certain amount of rbf score is the best showing, say 5-10k) because bdo isn't an easy game to theorycraft at due to the ridiculous amount of hidden things and rng things and that's simply not the case for most of the regular forum posters

3*~ What do i think about bdo's toxic mechanics - GRABS!

This is one of the main things i want to talk about,

BDO's pvp can be great but there are some things that are completely horrible

one of the biggest issues in bdo is grab/grapple - this is by far the most idiotic mechanic i've ever seen in a game and it makes bdo so much worse than it could be. In a way bdo's pvp is rock-paper-scissors = (block,iframe,SA) and then you suddenly get grab which somehow beats all these? It's just stupid, when 2 people clash whats the point of playing rps if you can just mash that grab button? It "skips" half of the game mechanics and it makes the game way more braindead

If you have 40 skills they could be used for fishing for cc or doing damage but instead you're just better off spamming that one grab button and 1shotting your enemy.

The Sorceress class was one of the ‘original’ 4 classes in Black Desert. She is a dark magic user with a mixture of mid-range to melee skills. The Sorceress class uses an Amulet as their primary weapon and Talisman as their secondary weapon. At level 56, Sorceress unlocks their awakening weapon which is a Scythe. The Sorceress class uses mostly melee range spins and slashes with her Scythe, as well as some ranged abilities and massive AoEs.

Sorceress is top tier in 1v1 and 1vx situations because of her many iframe abilities and ability to kite and engage only when it favours her. You may find them difficult to play and even harder to master because of their low defense. Getting caught or messing up your skills in PvP can result in a very quick and painful death. They aren’t as strong in node wars and sieges, so you will want to kite and try to pick out solo targets. Sorceress is highly effective in flank/flex groups in nodewars and that is their main role in larger PVP.
Sorceress Succession can be unlocked after level 56 after speaking to the Black Spirit and completing the Succession quest under the suggestions tab. This will give you a totally seperate skill tree that enhances your main hand skills and only has a few awakening skills. Your awakening weapon still effects your succession damage but is not as much of a priority. You can get away with using a Green/Blue grade TRI Ultimate weapon without losing too much damage. This is because only 30% of your Awakening AP is applied to the damage of Succession skills, as well as the additional item stats, such as Human/Species Damage and Accuracy.

Succession is considered better in general for PVE at end game. Like with most classes, succession pulls higher trash loot in end game spots but until then Awakening will perform better. For 1v1 and 1vx, awakening is better while Succession is better for larger scale PVP. Both options are completely viable though and it isn’t too skill point heavy that a new player can’t begin with succession straight away.
The Sorceress can effectively control the battlefield with dark magic by using both melee and ranged attacks. They lure enemies with ranged magic and lead them to a chaotic and painful demise once they come closer. Other races revere and fear the sorceresses. After Awakening, they can use dark magic to shroud themselves in darkness, and use a giant Scythe to cut down their enemies.

Black Desert Online (Korean: 검은사막) is a sandbox-oriented fantasy massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by Korean video game developer Pearl Abyss and originally published for Microsoft Windows in 2015. A mobile version titled Black Desert Mobile was initially released in Asia by early 2019,[1] and worldwide in December 2019. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions, known simply as Black Desert, were released in 2019. The game is free-to-play in some parts of the world, but follows a buy-to-play business model in other editions, including the English-language editions.

In 2018, Pearl Abyss began work on a prequel to the timeline of Black Desert, titled Crimson Desert, but during development it became a separate, stand alone IP with a different storyline and new characters.[2]
The combat in Black Desert Online is action based, requiring manual aiming and free movement similar to those found in third-person shooters. The game offers housing, fishing, farming, and trading,[3] as well as large player versus player siege events, and castle battles.[4] It is well regarded for its advanced and in-depth character customization.[5]

An active combat system requires precise manual aiming, dodging and using combos, unlike the tab-targeting system seen in most MMORPGs. Skills can be activated through use of combos for attacking, dodging or blocking. Players are also able to engage in mounted combat.[6][7] Mounts are acquired by taming in the wild, and players are able to breed special mounts by mating certain types.[8] Mounts require feeding and care, cannot be stored in the inventory, and may be killed.[9]

The game includes a number of features to assist with immersion and the sandbox aspect. The dynamic, worldwide weather system includes large-scale events such as typhoons and will influence gameplay.[10] Localized weather will include events such as temporary fog, which players may exploit to launch surprise attacks on rival guild structures.[11] There is also a dynamic day/night cycle with a gradual progression of lighting effects. During the night some non-player characters (NPCs) will become unavailable as they return home and the monsters will drop more loot. Different game content is available depending upon whether it is night or day.[12][13] Player housing is instanced and varies in size and location. Players are able to furnish and equip their housing by purchasing furniture through NPCs or through crafting.[14][15]
Black Desert Online takes place in a high fantasy setting and revolves around the conflict between two rival nations, the Republic of Calpheon and the Kingdom of Valencia.[16] Calpheon is very materialistic whereas Valencia is very spiritual.

Long ago, the four main areas, Calpheon, Serendia, Balenos, and Mediah, were at peace. This all changed when the Black Death started spreading via merchants from Valencia, in an area east of Mediah that controlled trading. Many around the world died of the plague. Some who did not, were expelled due to the black death causing paranoia. Eventually, the three of the main areas made an alliance and began a war that lasted for 30 years; with Mediah profiting the most by harvesting black stones and trading it to the others.

After the war, the alliance slowly started to conduct trades with Valencia once again. Tensions arose when the other areas discovered the importance of black stones. Desperate to gain wealth, they began to search for black stones as well. Calpheon had no area that harbored the precious black stones, thus they stole from the rest. This created further conflicts with Valencia, due to the fact that Valencia has a vast Black Desert which holds many black stones.[17]
