My animation of a comic by my buddy Heir of Rick!
Just another addition to all the Infinity War memes and references popping up after that Smash Bros World of Light trailer.
I recruited the very kind xHaZxMaTx (or Haz, call him Haz) to Photoshop all those pictures into layers that I could animate, and he put a lot of time into it and did a good job and we made a cool thing. Check him out here: deviantart.com/xhazxmatx
Heir has drawn thousands of ponies and Pokémon and other assorted creatures over the years. I've always thought one of the things he excels at is drawing things that look like they existed before he drew them and will keep going afterwards; characters that have a story behind them! Really, he's got stories that formulate as pictures. So animating them is just logical progression, y'know?
Anyway. I hope you keep drawing, Heir, because it's always nice to see them.

Since I was working with Heir on this, I had lots and lots of iterations rendered out to send to him, so why not compile them?
Dates go from yellow to blue to red as it gets later in the process, as a bit of shorthand. Feel free to pause it to take a better look at things, especially in the first chorus when things speed up!
Music: All We Know, by The Chainsmokers youtube.com/watch?v=lEi_XBg2FpkCorrupted (PMV) - All There IsTheeLinker2017-03-23 | A year and a half ago, my hard drive died, taking every unfinished PMV I had with it. Corrupted was one of them.
While I resolved to finish La Da Dee anyway, I'm afraid I simply declared Corrupted to be lost to the void. It's somewhat iffy that I would have finished it anyway, but now it's official.
This is as close to finished as Corrupted will ever get. I grabbed what I submitted to the 2013 BronyCon PMV contest, stuck 'missing footage' placards and two old gifs in the relevant places, and now I'm calling it a day.
At least there couldn't be a more appropriate video for this to happen to, eh?

My part in the Collaboratory's fifth collab, Down the Road. Longtime viewers might recognize these aesthetics as being similar to an old PMV I never finished called Corrupted: youtu.be/J-2GQGs1nmc
Corrupted was unfortunately lost for good to a hard drive failure last year, so this was me actually putting something complete out with the same sort of visuals. Saying goodbye, as it were.
As he says in the description, this was the song the comic was meant to go with; I'd long thought about going ahead and putting it together, and finally got around to it for his birthday.

This collab had the unique limitation wherein every part had to be made in under three hours. This was 2.5 hours of effort, though the prep work gathering vectors probably makes for 3 hours even. It was a ton of fun trying to come up with an executable concept and then seeing how fast I can bust it out.
The aesthetic basically came from the same place La Da Dee's did; if I don't have the skill (or in this case, the time) to make something photorealistic and amazing, well, embrace that and make it look like an art project. Bam!
I actually adapted this ponies-on-sticks theme into the full version of La Da Dee. Hopefully you'll be seeing that soon...Witchcraft (PMV) - TheeLinkers PartTheeLinker2015-11-15 | Find the full collab here! youtu.be/5Ds8gP-1szQ
My part in the Collaboratory's fourth collaboration, Witchcraft. I'd made a cube like that MONTHS ago, thinking it would be cool to do something where I roll a cube around like a die, but I never did anything with it. Today I saw it through! Fun fun.
I only started this on Monday... when it was due on Friday. Not great. So at every stage of this, I was going "This doesn't look right and I could make it better, but I don't have time." Nothing was how I wanted it and I wanted to apologize for even putting it in the collab, but then all of a sudden I switched over to "Oh shit, I like this." I don't really know what happened. It was never quite what was in my head, but... it was something!Dont Stop (PMV) - TheeLinkers PartTheeLinker2015-08-13 | Find the full collaboration here! youtu.be/frkfY-V4vHk
My part in the Collaboratory's third collaboration, Don't Stop (PMV). I had the Twilight hair flip thing in mind for MONTHS. Didn't fully come out how I liked (I need to learn how to animate flowy hair, dammit), but I'm just glad I got to do it.
I was very happy with how the Pinkie part turned out, and then did the Rarity part, aaaaannd she turned out nowhere near as good. Sad.
This was my first time throwing 3D particles everywhere, at least. I've always wanted to do it, but never knew how. I think there may still be a better way (notice how ALL the particles are under the other elements like Rarity and Pinkie, when some should probably be going in front of them) but it was a nice experiment. Definitely should have some good applications in future videos. The City (PMV) TheeLinkers PartTheeLinker2015-04-09 | Find the full collaboration here! youtube.com/watch?v=Hl3de4HJFmc
This is my part in The Collaboratory's The City (PMV). The first couple seconds are from pixel3000nerd's part, which, in a massive coincidence, used the exact same vector I was using as the background for MY bit.* I was able to do a seamless transition between our bits by integrating the end of his with mine. I got his After Effects file and everything.
Learned a lot doing this. I'd never quite made an entire environment before (in the middle part with the six ponies posing), or at least, never so effectively. Vectored that all from a Power Ponies screenshot, turned it into day, and then I was like, hey, if I drew all these buildings myself... why not make 'em bounce? And so I did.
This is my bit in The Collaboratory's All This Time PMV... which was uploaded back in November 2014. I'm a BIT late on uploading it to my own channel, I know. But, well, The City (PMV) is gettin' released in a matter of minutes, so, hey, figured I'd put both bits up now.
I was happy with this in large part because I don't know much about makin' good backgrounds, but I thought this came out okay. It's all colorful and bright! And flashy.La Da Dee (PMV) - Collab ft. Heir-Of-RickTheeLinker2014-08-02 | Full version is DONE! youtube.com/watch?v=Z2F6OKQu4JI

And yet there's still things I liked about it. Starting a trailer In Medias Res was always a neat concept to me (also seen in Canterlot Wedding), and it's just nice to have a FUN trailer as something different from all that dramatic/epic/emotional stuff. Just, like, "this is a party movie. They go to a party."

Anyway. What is Trailer Week? Trailer Week consists of uploading updated versions of all six of my previous trailers and topping it off with the brand-new Canterlot Wedding -- Theatrical Trailer.
"But why do your old trailers need an update?"
Well... just before Party of One was finished, I finally found a source of show audio that took out the background music and left in the vocals, clear as day. This was my biggest problem, particularly on the beginning of Dragonshy and most of Friendship is Magic, and... most of the rest, actually.
There's something to be said for just leaving well enough alone. This is true. But this way, I got to correct some stupid stuff that's always bugged me and tie all the trailers together with a common splash screen that hopefully makes it feel like more of a series.
"Okay, but why did you make some strange techno-dubstep video for this?"
Well, uh... it was fun. Practice practice practice!

First off, sixteen vectors were used in this video, mostly in the credits. I made a colorful Google Doc to contain the many sources: http://goo.gl/aRRLg
Reading his description on that page, Justin Lassen sounds like an awesome kind of guy -- particularly for encouraging exactly this kind of thing. Fiend Ninja's 'Faint Remix' AMV was indeed how I found this song, and I'm pretty sure it's what got me interested in editing at all. So I owe them both some great deal of thanks.
I'd been waiting to do this song for a while -- waiting until I got comfortable enough that I thought I could do some level of justice to the song/AMV that first made me marvel at the power of editing. I don't know how Mr. Lassen feels about ponies, but I hope he approves as well.
So, my special thanks:

No, this is stuff I have to figure out at some point, to be sure.
Other than that, I'm very happy to have a theatrical trailer that's different from anything else I've ever made. Just the way I like it. Expanding horizons, and all that. Trying new things!
I never wanted to show a preview of this before it was done, but I've been sitting on it for a VERY long time with no work being done. The After Effects file is bugging out for some reason... it's all very demotivating. So I threw a chunk at Youtube in case I never even get it done.
