Synthesiser, or synth, is probably a term that you’re familiar with. A synth is an incredibly versatile musical instrument that, when harnessed correctly, can be incredibly powerful. But, to a beginner, they look incredibly intimidating! (Quite frankly, they look like space ships…)

I’m going to explain 3 fundamental sections on a synth, one that produces the sound, one that filters bits out, and one that controls volume over time (Oscillators, filters and envelopes).
