The Synology RT2600ac is a very powerful wireless router that has been in the market for several years and as a premium class devices it support many advanced features including Dynamic DNS. Also, a Free Let's Encrypt certificate can be issued as part of the Dynamic DNS setup.
Synology RT2600ac Dynamic DNS setup can be done using Synology dynamic DNS service which is free to all Synology device owners or you can use in addition several other Dynamic DNS providers and the Synology RT2600ac will sync with these services without any issues.
What is dynamic DNS? Dynamic DNS makes a dynamic IP address given by your ISP act as though it's static. it does that by creating a service that updates a DNS record every time your ISP IP address changes. the end result is you having a publicly reachable hostname or FQDN that never changes and your ip address is tide to it even every time it changes.
Keep in mind:
Along with the benefits, there are security risks associated with Dynamic DNS. Attackers can leverage Dynamic DNS services to change the IP addresses that host command-and-control servers. Malware campaigns and even exploit kits can utilize Dynamic DNS services as part of their payload distribution.
So be sure to keep your Dynamic DNS hostname private and do not expose many services to the outside world.
