‘Near’ is a song set in a time of a creative slump and deep depression for Vinyl, where she has isolated herself, and her usual outgoing, life-of-the-party energy has been dulled. It tells the tale of Octavia’s efforts to stand by her friend and offer her comfort and support to help Vinyl remember who she can be and who she will be again, with Tavi by her side.

Sometimes you just need to chill out, take a break and give yourself a chance for a reset, especially with the state of the world lately. For this album, we built the theme around creating the space for a break, whether that be a stop at the local tea shop in Bridlewood, or taking in your surroundings at a stream or a lavender garden. Ponies At Dawn presents our 33rd album, Respite! As with all of our albums, there is plenty of variety throughout. Not all moments to oneself need be quiet and calm affairs after all!
The album will be showcased in full via a live audio stream on PonyvilleFM, with the album releasing towards the end of the stream. The stream will be hosted by Lycan and Dijit, and will take place on the 5th of September from 8pm UTC/4pm EDT until approximately 2am UTC/10pm EDT. The album release will have some special DJ segments before and afterwards to complement the release, which we also encourage people to tune in for. You can join in with the fun directly and interact with each other and fans by hopping into PonyvilleFM’s discord server during the release stream! We will also be broadcasting the PVFM audio stream into Pony Town’s event server, where people can come in and dance along with the release using pony avatars! The Pony Town server will be opened on the day of the album release, but you can make an account and design your character beforehand.

Once released, the album will be able to be downloaded for any price, including $0! The album will also be available on Spotify and other streaming services once we’ve had it approved by our distributor, which might be slightly later than the Bandcamp release date.
All donations towards the album will go towards a Charity between album releases!
