Can the Nintendo Switch 2 finally fix one of the most notoriously poorly optimized RPGs from the original Switch library? In this episode of our Switch vs. Switch 2 Performance Series, we are deep-diving into Arc of Alchemist by Idea Factory.
Known for its severe frame rate drops, stuttering camera pans, and long load times on the original hardware, Arc of Alchemist was a struggle to play. Today, we test if the raw power of the Switch 2 can brute-force this game into a stable experience. We test load times, explore the open desert, and take on "The Origin" dungeon to see if we can finally get a locked 30fps experience.
In this video:
Load Time Comparison: Cutting the wait time nearly in half.
Frame Rate Test: Comparing the stuttery 20fps of Switch 1 against the Switch 2's Backwards Compatibility Boost.
Dungeon Performance: Analyzing the heavy areas that used to crash the frame rate.

About Reviews 2 Go:
Welcome to Reviews 2 Go. I've been on YouTube since 2013 with the PS Vita and I've gone from the Vita Reviews to Reviewing all Handheld Consoles.
Ever since I discovered games with crippling issues in their Finale (Chrono Trigger on PS1 Classics), I have adopted a firm belief that a review must be coverage for ALL of a game. I'm not someone that touches Skyrim for 5 hours and says "Here's my REVIEW!" Those people are giving you glorified Previews. I do not touch a script until the Credits Roll, whether that takes 5 hours or 50.
What you get here:
- Information - Battery Life, Play Time, Handheld Port Changes, Performance Comparisons
- Bite-Sized Content - My Reviews never exceed 10 minutes to ensure you get the information quickly
- Genuine Enjoyment - All games I cover are games I want to play, and would even if I weren't a content creator
- Personal Streams: I respond to ALL Chats in my Weekly Livestreams
