A starburst cell (yellow) clasps a ganglion neuron (blue). These neurons are found in the retina. The starburst cell is one of dozens mapped by gamers and published in Nature ("Space–time wiring specificity supports direction selectivity in the retina; nature.com/nature/journal/v509/n7500/full/nature13240.html). Both cells relay input from photoreceptors into the brain and help animals interpret things they see. This starburst cell plays a role in motion perception.
