Another one from Sarane Ferret - “Swing Star”. Recorded by the wonderful band Sarane Ferret et Le Swing Quintette de Paris on Wednesday 30 April 1941, and now on Wednesday 24th of July 2019 by us. This tune gets played often in Melbourne now by several different groups (we’ve tried to record it so many times!). I like to think how proud Sarane would have been to hear that his tunes would become beloved standards far into the future in a place so distant from his home. He wrote so many really great melodies.
