The community of Atmautluak and the Cold Climate Housing Research Center (CCHRC) recently completed the construction of two prototype homes in the Lower Kuskokwim village in Southwest Alaska. CCHRC worked with the Atmautluak Tribal Council on this project.

The construction of the homes also provided carpentry skill training for local work force as the Atmautluak Tribal Council is starting a tribally owned construction company. The construction company aims to provide more local jobs and build needed housing in the village.
