‘We need to think about material longevity and how a building might really stand the test of time’ - ‘Seven Questions in Seven Minutes’ on sustainability in retrofit...

When it comes to retrofit, sustainability is a key part of making our buildings fit for the future.

As part of our ‘Revolution in Retrofit’ series, Nicoletta Michaletos, Senior Sustainability Consultant, explores the important role sustainability plays.

From looking at ways to retrofit buildings that become not just consumers of resources, but also producers, to retrofit at scale and focusing on the ‘bigger picture’, Nicoletta answers everything you need to know about sustainable retrofit, and why it is crucial to extending the life of buildings.

Nicoletta said: “A good quality building is one that doesn't become unbearably hot in the summer or flood in the winter. It's responsive to its environment and works with the changes in season, rather than assuming nothing ever changes.”
