What an incredible experience learning how to make sushi from an expert! I booked this ~3.5 hour lesson through Airbnb and ended up being the only person to book with Chef Nori for his lunch class! We first met at his local grocery store where we went through many ingredients including fish, rice, soy sauce, miso soup components, and more! We then went back to his home where we had a brief history of sushi and then prepared the sushi rice. He then showed me the steps of making nigiri sushi with fluffy play-doh (not shown), and then we went into the real deal. Nori taught me about sushi knives and how to properly cut the fish and then we got into forming the nigiri. He also taught me how to make other kinds of sushi not filmed and then we had a lovely lunch together. I am so grateful to have learned so much from Nori this afternoon and I hope you learned a little bit too!
