There’s been a lot of talk lately that the Canadian real estate market may finally be approaching the bottom—but here in Surrey and the Fraser Valley, the numbers are telling a different story.
Prices are still declining, sales remain historically low, and only about 1 in 10 homes on the market is selling each month. At the same time, there are finally a few encouraging signs, including fewer new listings and active inventory beginning to come down.
For sellers, this means pricing and timing remain extremely important. For buyers, today’s market offers something we haven’t seen much of in recent years: selection, negotiating power, and time to make a good decision.
