A well-known Miami orthopedic surgeon was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital after being struck by a driver while riding his bicycle Saturday morning, according to police and his family.

Family members identified the cyclist as Dr. Gilbert Beauperthuy-Rojas, an orthopedic surgeon with HCA Florida Mercy Hospital.
