Gibraltar’s property market is showing signs of renewed confidence following the treaty, with Chestertons reporting significantly more traffic to its website this summer compared with the same period last year.

But the company’s director, Mike Nicholls, has raised concerns over tighter residency restrictions introduced earlier this year.

He told Katy Docker that under the new rules, people moving to Gibraltar generally need to earn a minimum of £37,500 a year and be below the age of 55.

However, depsite this, BMI Group's Managing Director Louis Montegriffo said the treaty has given a great deal of confidence in the market, which he described as 'supremely positive'.
