We were told that the Apache believe that Superstition Mountain contains a God guarding a hole leading to the Underworld and anybody who disrespects the mountain, pays the price. There have been many disappearances since the 1800s and on average 5 people go missing every year. It is said to have more people go missing than any other mountain.
