Rugged and Challenging but breath taking and beautiful, this 42 mile solo journey through the heart of the Superior Hiking Trail has the most climbing but also the best views of Lake Superior. I started my 3 day journey at Highway 6 (just south of Section 13) and walked through Tettegouche State Park, Split Rock State Park, and Gooseberry Falls State Park.
The autumn leaves were just starting to turn and the weather was great as I walked by Sawmill Dome, Kennedy Creek, Highway 1, the High Falls, Mount Trudee, Palisade Creek, Bear Lake, Bean Lake, Silver Bay, Beaver River, Beaver Bay, Fault Line Creek, Chapins Ridge, Split Rock River, Blue Berry Hill, Gooseberry Falls, and Lake Superior.
