After merging back with Black Nox, Solis transforms back into Shadow the Hedgehog. Shadow decides to commit himself to helping Myria complete his plan in hopes that the Kitsune Pearls may eventually be able to resurrect Maria. As Sonic attempts to stop Myria from using the Kitsune Pearls Shadow transforms into Super Shadow and tries to hold him off. An ensuing battle begins between Super Sonic and Super Shadow.
