Starting off we have SuperMan’s memory wipe which was in the form of a kiss blow as seen in both the movie SuperMan II Movie and the Silver Age comics. It was abandoned after the Crisis of Infinite Earths Reboot of 86’ when stories turned more serious.
Speaking of the Silver Age, up next is The Flash’s "Super-Mentality" and "Super-Sculpting". He used to read entire libraries in seconds and use his hands to vibrate and sculpt entire structures out of rock or sand in the blink of an eye. These abilities could prevent any major threat from even occurring, so writers restricted his speed to physical movement, perception, and standard phase-shifting.
Next up is most of Namor's arsenal pre 1960. Stuff like his electric eel-like shock, self-enlargement, and a biological radar senses were completely retconned as he became a much more serious hero.
Speaking of reimagining arsenals, Spider-Man’s Spider-Sense use to be a lot more than just a threat detection. It used to follow radio frequencies, use "spider-reasoning" to instantly solve complex puzzles, and even induce a deep "spider-sleep" state on foes. But it’s Spider-Man’s own scientific intellect and awareness that made him so compelling which is why these were scrapped.
Lastly we have Thor’s time traveling. He did this by swinging Mjolnir fast enough to travel through time or open dimensional portals. established that spinning Mjolnir fast enough allowed him to travel through time or open dimensional portals. Marvel later phased this out to keep plots grounded and prevent easy fixes.
