This full story playthrough follows Cell through his different transformations, beginning with his rise as Imperfect Cell, continuing through Semi-Perfect Cell, and ultimately reaching his completed forms as Perfect Cell and Super Perfect Cell. Alongside the familiar events of Dragon Ball Z, the route explores several alternate timelines where Cell changes the outcome of some of the Cell Saga’s most important battles.
The first route follows the regular canon Cell Saga scenario, recreating Cell’s progression toward perfection, his battles against the Z Fighters, the Cell Games, and his final confrontation with Super Saiyan 2 Teen Gohan.
From there, the story begins branching into darker alternate outcomes.
One scenario asks what would happen if Semi-Perfect Cell defeated both Ultra Super Saiyan Trunks and Vegeta before reaching his perfect form. Instead of being completely outclassed by the Saiyans, Cell overcomes their enhanced strength and removes two of the greatest obstacles standing between him and Android 18.
Another What If route has Semi-Perfect Cell discover Android 18 before anyone else can protect her. After finding his final target, Cell reaches his perfect form and proceeds to overpower Trunks, Krillin, and Vegeta. With no time for the Z Fighters to regroup, Perfect Cell immediately demonstrates the enormous difference between his completed body and the warriors who previously threatened him.
A separate variation focuses on Semi-Perfect Cell defeating Ultra Super Saiyan Vegeta, while Trunks remains available to challenge him later. Cell defeats Vegeta, tracks down Android 18, and absorbs her before the remaining heroes can stop him. This route changes the timing of Cell’s transformation and creates a different confrontation between Perfect Cell and the surviving Z Fighters.
The story then becomes even darker with an alternate Cell Games ending involving Super Perfect Cell and Super Saiyan 2 Teen Gohan.
In the original Dragon Ball Z timeline, Gohan’s anger allows him to surpass Cell and become the first Super Saiyan 2. In this scenario, however, Super Perfect Cell defeats SSJ2 Gohan and eliminates the remaining Z Fighters. Instead of Gohan saving Earth, Cell proves himself to be the ultimate life-form and successfully destroys every warrior capable of opposing him.
The final scenario delivers the route’s biggest alternate battle: Super Saiyan 2 Goku vs Perfect Cell during the Cell Saga.
After watching Cell brutally defeat Gohan and attack the other Z Fighters, Goku becomes overwhelmed by anger. Rather than Gohan being the only Saiyan to break through the Super Saiyan barrier, Goku awakens Super Saiyan 2 and returns to the battlefield.
This creates an entirely new Cell Games climax as Cell faces a Cell Saga version of SSJ2 Goku. Unlike their earlier fight, Goku is no longer battling Cell simply to test his strength. He is fighting to protect Gohan, save his friends, and stop Cell from killing everyone on Earth.
