Verticality is a hack in a very weird place. It is both extremely vanilla in feel, but has a ton of custom stuff in it. It's probably a hack that you either really enjoy, or one you really don't like. I'm in the camp that enjoys the hack, but it's certainly worth a watch/playthrough yourself just to see and experience the custom stuff.
