Now that the main game has been completed, I can finally do the special world levels. When you find the secret exits in the Star World levels, they connect to the other Star World portals, allowing you to quick travel between islands. Finding the secret exit in Star World 5 unlocks a gateway to a special world, containing the game’s hardest levels. They also have the most radical 90’s slang names. Tubular and Outrageous are particularly difficult.

Once you beat the last level in the special world, the overworld gets a recolour to more of an autumn theme. I like when developers put aesthetic changes in their games that don’t affect the gameplay itself but offer some variety in the visuals.

Just so that I could get the end screen at the end of the video, I decided to play the final castle again, but through the back door. For whatever reason Bowser has a back door to his castle, and it lets you start at the halfway point right before bossfight. His castle design makes no sense.
