NBC Universal has let slip that the next film in the Mario Movie franchise will be titled Super Mario World, calling back to the retro game of the same name on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It’s possible the film will feature heavy references to this game, with of course Yoshi also joining the film.

The next Mario Movie is coming soon, with an April 3rd, 2026 release date, followed by a live-action Zelda movie in 2027.
