I actually copied the strategy from some japanese guy who did a speedrun of the entire game. It is possible that this comes close to being the optimal strategy for this level. I'm not sure, though.
Well, my time is definitely not optimal, but it's pretty good I'd say.
Now, some of you might wonder what I did for example at 0:15 . Let me explain:
To do this, you need to spin around your control stick before Mario touches the ground. At the same time, you need to press both the A and B button simultaneously. You will get used to this trick with some practice, so don't worry, you can do it as well.
