Super Mario Sunshine is the most cinematic Mario game ever and it's odd that Nintendo never tried it again. Super Mario Sunshine focused on story unlike every other game in the franchise. Mario is thrown into prison after being falsely convicted of crimes he didn't commit. Mario must clean up Isle Delfino with Fludd, a talking water pump. Mario Sunshine is full of cutscenes and voice acting, making it the first and only story driven Mario game.
