I did a lot worse than I thought in this task. :( I got 10th place out of 13 entries and got a time of 15"90.
Task: Enter Melting Snow Peaks and break 1 colored box, and one big cork box, then end by dying.
- If you start off holding A, it is counted as a full A press, and not a half.
- You may not kill any enemies
- You may not press the A button more than 5 times.
- No breaking more or less than 1 of each kind of box stated above.
- Use Version 1.01 of Star Road, which can be found in #resources.
Timing starts on the first off-white frame, and ends on the screen being completely black after dying.
This is a solo task, and you may not cooperate with anyone.

I can probably do better, but it still looks pretty good. Still an awesome strat, though.

After a little over six months since I finished the final level, I finally uploaded this. I created this movie file on July 1, 2019 and finished it on December 12, 2022, but my first attempts at TASing this game go back to December 2016 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du4dR2_dWSA). I definitely could have finished this run much sooner, but the main reasons for taking this long to finish are that I was still in high school when I began this project, and I experienced many lapses in motivation for TASing in general and frequently shifted my focus from this game to other games. However, Im quite happy with the end result and I ended up learning quite a bit about this game along the way.
I am currently in the process of writing the submission text for this run for TASVideos, which will offer detailed explanations for all the tricks and glitches used throughout the run, as well as minor optimizations that may not be apparent to viewers. Once it is finished, I will include a link to it both in the description and the comments. Thank you so much for being so patient with my slow output rate for this TAS, and I hope you enjoy the run!
