How to do:

1. While holding A, throw your cap by pressing L.
2. When you see your hat fly back towards you, press and hold L, and Z, while still holding A.
3. Mario should be flickering and doing a bunch of ground pounds into the air. When Mario finally throws his cap after ground pounding, move the joystick forward, and press B while still holding Z to do a mid-air dive.
4. Mario will now dive into the cap and bounce off of it. This is why you need to hold A for the entirety of this trick, because you'll jump higher. After Mario bounces off the cap, move the joystick back a little bit to stop moving.
5. Mario's cap should fly back to Mario mid-jump, so hold L and Z again to do more glitchy ground pounds.
6. Repeat steps 3-5

This can also be done in 0 A presses, meaning that the A Button Challenge for this game is basically dead lol
