It's finally here! A nostalgic Nintendo classic, now with the DS Music piano flair!
This is a piece that basically every Nintendo fan knows and has been oft requested for this channel (this time, my Patreon fellas actually voted on this song). I've barely played Super Mario Galaxy (tho I did play Super Mario Galaxy 2 to death tho. Loved the multiplayer!), but I still love the soundtrack so much. I wanted to make this arrangement mostly simple in order to capture the nostalgic happy feelings most people have towards this time in gaming, hence the 'nostalgic piano cover' title. The process had uhhh *quite a few road bumps*, but somehow against all odds it's finally out, so I hope you all enjoy the final product.
Let me know if you guys would like me to upload this to Spotify and iTunes and whatnot! Now that it's an option for me, if I get enough requests on any song I can go and distribute it whenever.
I'll also probably be taking a break from uploading for a bit. MAGFest is coming soon and I'll be there with a gig to boot! Ive been wanting to cover this piece for a heccin long time (since I havent played a meme piece in forever, and no 433 doesnt count cuz thats actual art) but didnt know where to start. How could I do the furret boi justice with just piano?
So as I was thinking about that, a brilliant idea struck me while watching collaborator RichGCs memetastic yet great acoustic videos: why not add more instruments? Rich is a master of many memes and a motley mishap of musical instruments, so he gladly gave me plenty of stuff to work with (including some hilarious video footage) and I managed to put it all together into probably one of my biggest video projects yet!

Alright doods, todays upload is one heck of a doozy, and I cant be more excited to share it! In a way, this sorta feels like a big finale vid for Year 6 since this has been the mother of all collabs for me (as this year has been all about collabs ever since the Gates of Hell cover with Tyler Jenkins), but Im still aiming to make more vids as long as I still have my piano this summer, so lets just call this a big crowd-rousing selection before the encore.
So why this song from this Street Fighter spin off game of all covers? Well, just about a year ago (when I started Year 6 back last August), I had just gotten into watching Youtuber/streamer Maximillian Doods content, and his vids and streams introduced me to the FGC along with all things Capcom. Especially during some of the hard times I faced at the end of the last year when I debated whether or not to still do Youtube, his vids always helped put a smile on my face and get me to keep shining on so in a way he inspired me to keep going with piano. To thank him for all his efforts, I wanted to do this cover of Youtube outro music, Precious Heart (Sakuras Theme) which is a DOOD-CERTIFIED bop!
However, since this piece involves a small band, I had to go looking for another collaborator. And who else to approach for a jazzy fighting game song bop than the grooviest of lads, The Consouls? Ive been listening to them for years, and since they especially have an interest in fighting game music, I thought it was worth it to attempt to reach out to them. In the biggest shock of this year, they readily accepted and had their parts ready in no time! Im eternally grateful for all the support theyve had for this video and Im so honored to be able to play alongside them.
Anyways, Im so happy that this crossover of Infinity War proportions is finally out for yall to see and I hope you guys enjoy it! That isnt it for content from me for this year though, so stay tuned for whatever the heck I have might think of doing for the next vid. The finale will hopefully be the Top 10 Zelda Songs Medley for the 10,000 subscriber special, so be sure to tell your friends so we can reach that milestone!

So I did say on the last vid that Ive been getting into Monster Hunter music...
The idea for making this chill cover actually first came from @Soundole announcing his annual Chillout Contest for 2021. Since I got 3rd place back in 2019 but didnt get to enter last year, I was wondering what track I should try out for this year. Now since Ive been getting into Monster Hunter, of course I started watching a ton of videos by @gaijinhunter. In the background of a lot of his vids he plays this track, of which Ive heard so much that Ive unconsciously started whistling along with it whenever watching his vids! I thought it would be the perfect track to arrange into a long, calm, and relaxing tribute.
Honestly I didnt even realize that the track length maximum for the Soundole contest was 7 minutes, the arrangement just somehow ended up being that long after I came up with the ideas for it. I threw in a ton of the techniques I know and combined them with some of the fun arrangement bits from the Monster Hunter Jazz album version of this song. Even for a slow & easy song such as this, playing any tune for 7 minutes straight with little to no mistakes is a small marathon (especially with the tricky bits I added in every here and there for atmospheric flair). It took me a lot of work and effort to put this together, so Id very much appreciate if yall could put this on repeat for some background music to help relax & study to! Any support against the awful Youtube algorithm would be much loved and appreciated.
Now that Ive covered Lon Lon Ranch, Crimson Sunset, National Park, AND Traverse Town, I realize that Ive been covering a lot of town/village/locale themes this year. Theyve been some of my favorites to arrange/learn and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Who needs Super Smash Bros. when you can play Super Smash Bros. with furries in all their pixelated goodness?
This game has been steadily growing on me over the years, just like my love of Smash Bros. I first played it just for fun by joining Rivals tournaments at my colleges Smash club. Ive come to appreciate the mechanics, character diversity, and the absolutely lovely 8-bit (I think?) OST a lot more through my time experiencing it. The reason this cover came about is because one of my friends at college (the one who actually got me to start playing Rivals) just got voted in to be flown out to Heat Wave 3, a Rivals of Aether national tournament, which is happening this weekend. To celebrate both my boi Blurb getting voted in and Rivals in general, I decided to finally cover this OST!
I spent wayyy too much time making this cover, but the end result was totally worth it. I wanted to stay as close to the source material (both from Rivals and from the original game this is from, Tower of Heaven) as possible, even if it meant including all the face paced synth arpeggios. Im just a bit disappointed I didnt manage to master this at full tempo, but in the week I had to learn this, Im pretty content with 92.9% speed :P Maybe one day in the future Ill rerecord and remaster this with fingers flying at the full 140 BPM...
Anyways, yall know that the end of October is just around the corner, and with that comes sp00py season! I got a few spooky scary ideas coming soon, so stay tuned for some special covers.

I bet you NEVER SAW THIS COMING even if you did REACH OUT TO THE TRUTH
So heres a little unexpected surprise! Even though I just posted a cover last week, Ive been binging Persona 4 content like all of last week. I dont know why I got this sudden fascination, the only experience Ive had with the title before is that I liked the song Reach Out to the Truth in Smash Bros and that the Persona 4 characters were fun to play in Blazblue Cross Tag Battle (along with my various Persona 5 music antics). However, I eventually came to love the quirky and wholesome vibe of the game, its presentation, its story (Ive been watching too much of the Persona 4 anime lately oops), and of course its music. So when I heard the rumor that Persona 4 Golden is coming out on Steam today (remind me to edit this depending on what happens lol), I thought now was as good a time as ever to cover something from this game!
I decided to pick the calm piano version of Ill Face Myself since I wanted to challenge myself to make a cover that was interesting and diverse while remaining completely in the realm of peaceful piano. I managed to figure out how to get my soft pedal to work in the piano VST which gave it a lovely sound fitting of a calm and relaxing piano beat to study and relax to 24/7.
Since this game is all about social links and the power of bonds, Id like to give a special shout-out to all the collaborators Ive worked with this year! Year 6 has definitely been the year of collabs, and I wouldnt have been able to make as many amazing large-scale covers if it werent for the many other talented musicians Ive worked with! And speaking of collabs, Ive got a BIG one coming out next week! This song will be a big (but not quite final) hurrah to a year of interesting twists and turns, so stay tuned for quite the surprise next week.

Let me tell you, Ive absolutely fallen in love with this new vocal theme for the game, everything about it just makes me wanna cry *ahem um cough cough* I mean, its really friccin good o_0 So this weekend while I was just chugging through homework, I came up with this idea for a classic DS-style hip-hop remix of a bit of the theme, and spent all weekend putting it together.
If this receives enough love, maybe Ill touch this up a bit and make it better for the full game release, or even maybe go ahead and make an extended mix for the entire song :D
