Super Mario 64 was a legendary game on the Nintendo 64 but was rumored to originally be in development for the SNES using the Super FX or "Mario" chip. The debate still continues upon wether it actually went into development or not, despite recent evidence that it was not.
Wether it was headed for the SNES or not, I became fascinated by how the game of my childhood would look on the Super Nintendo, as games like Starfox 2 prove the Super FX 2 chip which came out later in the consoles lifetime gave the it some serious power. I was not satisfied by current offerings on YouTube so I decided to try and design how I imagine the game would have looked on the SNES.
Although the video is in 720p HD the resolution of the images you are seeing is similar to that of the other 3D Super FX games, which although blurred at times makes the game more imaginable on the SNES and was is very much part of the nostalgic charm of games of the era.
Anyway, Enjoy the Video. -Green Ham Gaming
