Before getting the final RTA 100% world record that I needed to start practicing Super Mario 3D World 380 Star, I decided to pick up this free captain toad world record along the way! Figuring this out was a bit confusing. My lava cycles were consistently a second slower until I realized that you have to let the cutscene play for a really specific amount of time. This took about 15 minutes.
