On February 15, 2026, the U.S. Air Force executed Operation Windlord — the first airlift of a nuclear reactor in history. This video is a tactical breakdown of how three C-17 Globemaster III transports carried the eight modules of the Ward250 microreactor from March Air Reserve Base in California to Hill Air Force Base in Utah, and why no other aircraft on Earth could have been trusted with the mission. We walk through the C-17's powered roller cargo floor, its four Pratt & Whitney F117 engines, its fly-by-wire flight controls, the powered-lift system that lets a 400,000-pound aircraft land on a 3,000-foot dirt strip, and the thrust reversers that let it back itself up under its own power.
