So I'm painting a landscape on location, and guess who shows up? Not just Super Mario.....but Super Colossal Mario!
• I paint the sky first with casein (a water-based paint amzn.to/2LRFYbk )
• Then I add the trees, clouds, and Mario with gouache (aka opaque watercolor: amzn.to/2LSVRhR ).
• The sketchbook is a Pentalic Aqua Journal ( amzn.to/2YDsNAG )
• I use a water-soluble colored pencil ( amzn.to/2J4QTJJ ) to sketch in the figure.
• I'm referencing an articulated action figure of Mario ( amzn.to/2SUEvSa ) and lightening and cooling all the dark colors to make him look far away.
• It's painted on location the Hudson Valley, New York.
