SUNY Downstate Kings County Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program is an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency program of 30 rising physicians caring for the diverse patient population of Brooklyn, New York. The majority of our training is at Kings County Hospital Center, a New York City’s Health and Hospitals facility that's been serving New Yorkers since 1837. our hospital has a rich history caring for New York City. NYCHHC enables us to provide for our patients regardless of insurance, immigration status, or ability to pay. In this program, there's a great mix of inpatient and outpatient experiences at Kings County Medical Center, University Hospital Brooklyn, Brooklyn Veterans Hospital, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Our program provides exceptional training for primary care using evidence-based approaches for teaching, communication, and quality improvement. Additionally, the program provides rigorous inpatient training on par with any of the best categorical programs in the country. The teaching style here is that of autonomy with supervision. We carry our own panel of patients in continuity clinics, personalize their care plans, and learn from exceptional attending physicians all along the way. I couldn't be more proud of being a resident with this program!
