Round 1 vs Metroid998 [GTT2 Set 2]
Had to remake the serve (irl recorded classifying it under “homemade footage”) because the original used no sources, breaking the rule of having to use at least one source for GTT2 serves. Along with that comes a slightly different approach, included a descending pitch and made use of analog equipment (my first time ;w;) among other things. Call serves like this pretentious if u want lol, I just thought it’d be a good tone-setter for a bigger match, hope it isn’t too hard to respond to
Thought the text at the top would disappear when transferred to digital but I guess that’s not how it works. I was worried having any text on display would be kinda “loud”, as in I didn’t wanna emphasize the vhs aesthetic here to that extent

Original description: After I played angryluigi in set 1 I was kinda unsure as to who was gonna win with how well we both played, but I was honestly leaning towards luigi since I wasn’t really proud of round 3. It ended up being me though, and now I face metroid, in which I’m giving them a serve of similar nature to that of my black screen serves for Sqwik Sqwik and Letycjusz S., only this time it gradually becomes whiter and a sine sweep accompanies the audio, the true Sachiko M way™. I’ve had this idea for a serve for a while as indicated in the descriptions of those aforementioned black screen rounds, and the colour transformation here just so happens to fit the name of the tournament, go figure. I thought metroid would be a fitting player for something like this too given their match with Ro502 in the previous set, as well as their famously atmospheric style in general
